Vasvel

Connect Vasvel to Claude

Use your saved cards, notes and collections in your own Claude account. You can connect when Claude access is enabled for your Vasvel account. A directory listing may not yet be available.

What you need

A Vasvel account with saved material, and a Claude account or Claude Code installation. Saving a new note requires an eligible Vasvel trial or plan. Claude's own usage limits apply.

Review the permissions and privacy policy before connecting. Library permission covers your library, including material outside a selection. Retrieved text, titles, source URLs and collections are sent to Anthropic when Claude requests them.

Connect in Claude

  1. Open Ask AI in Vasvel and choose Connect Claude. Claude opens its connector setup with Vasvel's name and URL filled in.
  2. If you add it manually, open Customize → Connectors in Claude, choose Add custom connector, name it Vasvel, and enter https://vasvel.com/api/claude/mcp. Leave custom OAuth credentials empty.
  3. Choose Add, then Connect. Sign in to the intended Vasvel account when asked. Check the account email and the return destination, claude.ai, on Vasvel's permission screen.
  4. Approve library access. Optionally select permission to create new notes. This connection cannot edit or delete existing notes.
  5. In a Claude conversation, open the + menu, choose Connectors, and turn on Vasvel.

Connect in Claude Code

Add the remote server from the project where you want to use it:

claude mcp add --transport http vasvel https://vasvel.com/api/claude/mcp

Start Claude Code, run /mcp, choose Vasvel, and follow its sign-in flow. Confirm your Vasvel account and permissions. The return destination is localhost or 127.0.0.1, where Claude Code is running on your device. Continue only if you started this connection.

This command uses Claude Code's default local project scope. See Claude Code's MCP instructions for other scopes and connection status.

Try your saved sources

  • “Find my Tokyo travel collection and summarize three places, citing my saved sources.”
  • Select cards or a collection in Vasvel, choose Use in Claude, and send the selection message to Claude.
  • “Save this checklist to Vasvel as ‘Tokyo packing list’.” Approve the note-saving permission and check the returned note link.

Vasvel provides saved source material; it does not verify that every saved claim or opening time is still current.

Disconnect or change accounts

Open Ask AI in Vasvel to check or disconnect Claude. Disconnecting stops future access across your Vasvel Claude connections, including Claude Code, while your ChatGPT connection remains separate. It does not erase copies already in Claude conversations. Manage those in Claude.

To remove the connector from Claude, also remove Vasvel under Customize → Connectors. In Claude Code, use claude mcp remove vasvel in the same scope where you added it. To connect another account, start the connection again and choose Use another account on Vasvel's permission screen.

If something goes wrong

  • If Vasvel says the account cannot connect yet, use an account with enabled access or contact support. Adding a custom connector does not bypass this requirement.
  • If Claude cannot reach the server, check that the URL is exactly the one above and try again. If the service is unavailable, contact support.
  • If Claude asks you to reconnect, start from the connector's Connect action and review your permissions again.
  • If a selection is unavailable, it may have expired or belong to another account. Create a new selection while signed in to the correct account.
  • If saving is refused, check optional note-saving permission and your Vasvel trial or plan.

Email support@vasvel.com with the action and error message. Never send your password, OAuth tokens or sign-in codes.
